I walk through the college admission and/or scholarship application process with students needing support. There are several ways this could play out, whether it be just answering a few questions or helping students fill out applications and find pertinent information. These services are customized to fit student needs.

Meet Your Tutor!

Thanks for visiting my website! I am the creator of 256 STEM tutoring and I am excited for the opportunity to guide your student to academic success. I enjoy helping students learn and prepare for the future. Public schools are stretched thin and while they can prepare students well, I think I can add value to students in various ways. There is a large gap between the Alabama public education system and college/career readiness. In 2022, the state graduation rate of Alabama public high schools was 90.68%. The rate of college and career readiness for 2022 was 76.48%. This means that many students are graduating high school unprepared for the next step. Further than that, Math and Science proficiency for these same students were 27% and 37%. I want to fill in those gaps to help your student be as prepared as possible for what lies ahead, whether it be the next grade, beginning college, or even going to work. In a county that prides itself on being a STEM hub for education, we have work to do when it comes to preparing our students for the future.

I have unique set of experiences and skills that enable me to help students reach their goals. I graduated from New Hope High School in 2016 and then attended the University of Alabama, attaining a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry along with a Master of Arts in Science Education. Following my college career, I instructed high school science courses for about two years before becoming a chemist/instructor on the Redstone Arsenal. While I am out of the classroom now, I still desire to equip students to be successful. Listed below are a few ways I envision doing just that. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss how I can help guide your student to a successful academic future.

Frequently Asked Questions

We gathered the answers to some potential questions below.

Where do your tutoring sessions take place?

Tutoring sessions can take place in public libraries or local coffee shops. Additionally, I can meet your student in your home or virtually via zoom!

How soon can I meet for tutoring?

Generally, I prefer for tutoring sessions to be scheduled 3-4 days in advance for my schedule and preparation. However, urgent requests will be considered.

Why should I pay for my student to receive assistance in their academic career?

Academic tutoring and advising for your student is an investment. I am here to invest in your student so they can achieve their goals. This can ultimately lead to higher grades, better test scores, college acceptance, scholarship money, and a well-planned career path.

Are rates negotiable?

The standard rates are set based on expertise, time spent preparing for sessions, actual tutoring time, and travel time. So please consider those things as you consider the costs. However, I have a deep desire to help students and don’t want costs to be a barrier to success. If costs are an issue, reach out me.

What aged students do you assist in learning?

My primary experience is with high school students, but I have also worked with middle school students and college students. I am glad to help whoever I can.

From what areas do you accept students for tutoring?

The most convenient area for tutoring is Madison County, but if you are outside Madison County and interested in tutoring, reach out to me and we can decide what is best for your student.
